The Karab installation “The Silent Witness”, is a statement on the cycle of history, struggle, and identity present within the layers of skin the palm tree sheds. This work took a natural progression with the installation “Inanna”. “Inanna” represents my hybrid identity as an expatriate Iraqi woman whose life dispersed in many geographic landscapes, and acted as a metaphor for my displacement and uprootedness.
